KIERAN WHITE (Ternor) The English tenor, Kieran White, studied
at Wells Cathedral School and is currently studying his Masters
at the Royal Academy of Music under the tutelage of Dr. Neil
Mackie and Iain Ledingham. He is a Kohn Foundation Bach
Cantata Soloist.
Formerly Kieran was a chorister at Wells Cathedral. While
singing as a treble Kieran attained a place as one of the four
finalists in BBC Radio 2's Young Chorister of the Year two years
running. In his last year as a chorister Kieran sang on the boys
production of Britten's Missa Brevis as the featured soloist.
He enjoys performing on the concert platform and highlights
include Benjamin Britten's A Birthday Hansel, Tenor and Harp
at the Royal Academy of Music and Ian Venable's On the Wings of Love, Tenor, Piano and
Clarinet at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Kieran is passionate about baroque music and particularly Bach's Evangelist. He has
performed Bach's St John Passion in King's College London Chapel and Bach's St Matthew
Passion Morley College, Bach's Cantata 62 & 63 and Rachmaninov's Vespers in Glasgow
Cathedral, Bach's Christmas Oratorio, Monteverdi's Vespers and David Brigg's Requiem
and Charpentier's Te deum in Truro Cathedral, Carl Orff's Carmina Burana in City Halls
Glasgow, Handel's Messiah in Trinity College Dublin.
On the operatic platform roles include Renaud in Armide by Lully with Woodhouse Opera,
Florville in Il Signor Bruschino, Bertrando in L'inganno Felice and Edoardo in La Cambiale di
Matrimonio by Rossini with Raucous Rossini, Ferrando in Così Fan Tutte by Mozart with
Opera dei Lumi, Alfredo in Die Fledermaus by Strauss with Edinburgh Studio Opera,
Steuermann in Der Fliegende Höllander by Wagner with Focus Opera, Corridon in Acis and
Galatea by Handel with Music of the Spheres and Glasgow Opera conducted by John Butt.
He has also sung in the Chorus at Dorset Opera appearing in seven years of productions.
Future Highlights include his debut performing with Amsterdam Baroque and Count Alberto
in L'occasione fa il ladro by Rossini with Raucous Rossini.
