2009 will mark the 250th anniversary of the death of Handel – a good excuse, if we ever needed one, for the choice of the Messiah as the first work to be performed under the choir’s new conductor, Gavin Carr. The choir has a reputation for high quality performances of the Baroque repertoire, and you will not be disappointed by this performance of a deservedly popular work in the wonderful setting of Bristol Cathedral.
